IBPS PO Exam Pattern 2024
The IBPS PO Exam Pattern 2024 is designed to assess a candidate’s aptitude, reasoning ability, and overall banking knowledge. The test is divided into three parts: the preliminary exam, the main exam, and the interview.
IBPS PO Prelims Exam Pattern 2024
The preliminary phase of the IBPS PO 2024 exam acts as a screening round to shortlist candidates for the next stages. It includes three sections and lasts for a total of 1 hour. In this phase, candidates will have to answer 100 Multiple Choice Questions.

IBPS PO Mains Exam Pattern 2024
To be eligible for the IBPS PO mains exam 2024, candidates must qualify in the prelims round. The IBPS PO Mains Exam comprises four sections, and there’s an additional section specifically for the English Language. The exam will consist of a total of 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and has a duration of 3 hours. For each incorrect answer, there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks.
Each section in the mains exam will have a designated time limit, similar to the prelims exam. To pass the mains exam, candidates need to clear each section individually.

Candidates must be versed in current affairs such as budget-related questions etc. The maximum mark allotted to the interview round is 100.
IBPS PO Interview Process 2024
In the IBPS PO Interview, there is no fixed topic that candidates need to focus on. However, it is highly recommended to concentrate on areas like general knowledge, current affairs, and finance-related subjects while preparing for the Probationary Officer Interview.
The interview holds a total weightage of 100 marks, and candidates must secure a minimum score of 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD) to qualify for this phase. The final result is calculated based on the marks obtained in both the Interview and Main exam, with a weightage ratio of 20:80 respectively. In other words, the Interview’s performance contributes 20% to the final result, while the Main exam contributes 80%.
